Digital
X-Ray - Planmeca ProOne
Dr.
John is pleased to now offer his patients the Planmeca ProOne
all-around (panoramic) dental X-ray unit. Simple is
beautiful. Planmeca designed their fully digital Planmeca ProOne,
dental panoramic X-ray unit, with simplicity in mind. No
compromises were made in applying the latest state-of-the-art
technology providing a superior method of taking
X-rays.

The Planmeca ProOne
side entry allows easy access for all patients; the X-ray exposure
can be performed on a standing or a seated patient. If necessary,
the patient can even remain seated on a wheelchair. In Planmeca
ProOne, no mirrors are needed for patient positioning. Instead, the
patient has an open and comfortable view, so for instance a small
child can see the accompanying adult at every stage of the
exposure.
The fully digital
Planmeca ProOne X-ray unit provides absolute ease of use for Dr.
John’s Team providing the availability of cutting edge technology
to each patient.
CEREC
- Ceramic Restorations
Dr.
John continues to offer patients CEREC restoration services – a
superior method of creating precisely-designed, color matched and
highly durable ceramic restorations in one office
visit.What does "CEREC"
mean? CEREC is an acronym that stands for Ceramic
Restoration. From
simple fillings to full crowns to veneers, CEREC delivers the
results you need in a single appointment.

The
CEREC Unit is mobile and houses a medical grade computer and
the CEREC camera. Dr. John uses the camera to take a digital
picture of your prepared tooth. This picture is used instead
of a traditional impression. This means no impression tray
and material for you to gag on. The computer and CEREC 3D
software converts the digital picture to a three dimensional
virtual model of your prepped tooth. Dr. John then
designs your restoration right on screen using the
software while you wait (and watch!). This software can
assist Dr. John with designing any single tooth restoration:
crowns, inlays (fillings), onlays (partial crowns), and
veneers. Once Dr. John has designed your restoration (usually
about 5 minutes), he clicks a button, and the design data is
communicated via a wireless radio signal to the CEREC Milling
Unit.
.
Dr.
John or his dental assistant then selects a ceramic block that
matches the shade of the tooth being repaired. He or she
then inserts the block into the Milling Unit. The data from
the Acquisition Unit is used to direct two diamond coated burs to
carve the block into the indicated shape of the restoration.
This process usually takes 8 to 18 minutes depending on the size
and type of restoration. After the milling is finished, Dr.
John or his dental assistant polishes the finished filling or
crown and bonds it into place.
CEREC
is the world's only system for the fabrication of all
ceramic dental restorations in one office visit. With CEREC
at Dr. John’s side, you can be in and out in a single visit with a
permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay, or veneer! For you, our
patient, this means fewer injections, less drilling, and less time
out of your hectic schedule for dental care.
